Aesu (AESV) · c. AD 30–45
Icenian name on one die of silver units
AESV is a name on silver units of the from today's Norfolk and Suffolk, struck in the decades before the Roman conquest. Talbot's shows that the AESV coins came from one , used with the same die as the SAENV coins and die-linked to the ECE coins, all from one workshop. In 1864 Evans wondered whether AESV and SAEMV were town names; modern catalogues treat Aesu as a person, perhaps a ruler or another local figure, of whom nothing else is known.,,
Known for A short issue of Icenian silver units AESV, struck from a single reverse die.
