Ruler
Epaticcus · c. AD 25–40 (coins dated about AD 30–45)
Son of Tasciovanos; Cunobelin's brother or close relative
Epaticcus is known only from his coins: no Roman writer names him. His gold coins call him a son of Tasciovanos, which makes him a brother, or at least a close relative, of Cunobelin. His coins are found south of the Thames, in the lands of the in today's Hampshire, Berkshire, Surrey and Wiltshire, where he seems to have taken Calleva (Silchester) from Verica. Besides gold and silver units he struck tiny silver minims such as this one; Van Arsdell gave this bull-and-eagle to Verica, but places it under Epaticcus.,,
Known for Taking the Atrebatic kingdom south of the Thames for Cunobelin's family in the years before the Roman invasion of AD 43.
