Vepo (VEP CORF) · c. AD 20–50
Corieltavian issuer known only from VEP coins
VEP, written on Corieltavian gold staters and silver units from today's Lincolnshire and Yorkshire, is catalogued as the name of an issuer, Vepo. On the staters it is paired with CORF, whose meaning is not known. Nothing is known of Vepo outside the coins; Evans, who published the type in 1864, thought the legends of the district inexplicable. The VEP CORF gold shares its crossed and star with the later IISVPRASV (Esuprasu) staters.,,,
Known for The VEP CORF gold staters of the , one of the commonest issues of the East Midlands.
People Corieltavi: A people of today's East Midlands and Lincolnshire, with their later Roman capital at Leicester; their late gold names people such as VEP, IISVPRASV and DVMNOC on the coins.,
