Ruler
FreeVerica · c. AD 10–40
Verica ruled the and south of the Thames from about AD 10 to about AD 40. His coins call him a son of Commius. He is almost certainly the 'Bericus' who, Cassius Dio says, was driven out of Britain by an uprising and persuaded the emperor Claudius to invade in AD 43.,,
Known for One of the largest and most Roman-looking coinages of Iron Age Britain, and, as 'Bericus', the appeal to Claudius before the Roman conquest.
